Mitsubishi and nVidia - The Perfect Partners
The world of PC gaming has never looked so bright. With the advent of 3D technology such as 3D TV, 3D active shutter glasses and 3D rendering software becoming far more mainstream and well priced, any one can get into 3D gaming with the right equipment.
If you're interested in getting in on the whole 3D PC gaming lark with nVidia's 3D Vision Kit, then you may be considering going for a Mitsubishi 3D TV as your display rather than one of the 3D monitors available. If so this is a very wise choice. Choosing a Mitsubishi 3D Television gives you the added advantage of having a 3D TV that can be used for more than just 3D gaming - you can also use your Mitsubishi 3D TV to watch DIRECTV's 3D channels and 3D Blu Ray movies when used in conjunction with Mitsubishi's 3D Adapter.
A full 3D gaming system including Mitsubishi 3D Ready TV, 3D capable Computer and 3D glasses plus IR emitter, will cost at best around $2,000 if you're buying everything new. Many are lucky enough to already have a 3D capable computer (see spec below) and can reduce the cost to around $1,200. Not a bad price for the chance to experience a fully immersive 3D gaming experience eh?

nVidia 3D Vision Kit
The nVidia Geforce 3D Vision Kit is without doubt your best choice for 3D gaming software, IR emitter, and active shutter glasses to use with your Mitsubishi 3D Ready TV. It's easy to set up, it's adjustable so that you can get get just the right 3D effect and if you are looking to expand into 3D Blu Ray and television, the glasses and emitter can be used directly with the Mits 3D TV.
There are other options for 3D gaming but none even come close to nVidia's 3D Vision Kit. It is extremely well priced at under $200 and produces an excellent 3D gaming experience. While this kit is perfect for games created in 3D it is also able to convert hundreds of PC games into 3D. For the price you get a simply amazing piece of kit.
More on Mitsubishi 3D Televisions
The Mitsubishi 3D Ready TV's are the only HD televisions compatible with nVidia's 3D Vision Kit (they were actually developed in conjunction with one another). One big advantage is that because of the DLP technology used in these televisions, Mitsubishi's 3D TV's are huge in comparison to other makes of 3D TV. Screens are available in sizes 60", 65", 73" and 82" and they also benefit from an excellent viewing angle of 160°.
Apart from all these plus points, the one we have not mentioned up until now is that the image quality that these DLP TV's produce. It is absolutely superb and in my opinion, wipes the floor with LCD and plasma TV's.

Is Your PC 3D Vision Ready?
Ok, so we've looked at the Mitsubishi 3D TV's and nVidia's 3D Vision Kit, now it's time to determine whether your current PC is 3D ready and can run the 3D vision software successfully. If you've got an up-to-date PC, with the following capabilities then you may not have realized it, but your computer system is already 3D Ready.
- nVidia GPU/Video Card - GeForce 8 series, GeForce 9 series, or GeForce GTX 200 series .
- Intel or AMD Dual-core CPU
- 1GB or higher of system memory (2GB is better)
- 100 MB free disk space
- Microsoft Windows Vista 32/64-bit or Windows 7 32/64-bit
Most new PC's will have dual core processors, a large hard disk and plenty of memory, as well as use Vista or Windows 7 Operating systems. The area that may let you down is your video card or the absence of one. Many PC's have an integrated system with the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) as part of the motherboard but unfortunately this set up won't be able to produce the kind of processing speed that 3D requires. In this case it's important to buy a dedicated video card/GPU with the correct functional capabilities. Below you'll find a selection of nVidia GPU's that are 100% compatible with nVidia's 3D Vision Kit.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3D Ready GPU 's / Video Cards
Here's a list of GPU's that nVidia recommend using with the GeForce 3D Vision Kit and many have the all important HDMI out port (for the ones that don't you can use a DVI to HDMI cable successfully). Other video cards such as the popular ATI or AMD products are not currently compatible with nVidia 3D Vision, although word is that AMD will be providing 3D driver updates later in the year.
GeForce GTX 295
GeForce GTX 285
GeForce GTX 280
GeForce GTX 275
GeForce GTX 260
GeForce GTS 250
GeForce GTS 240

GeForce 9800 GTX
GeForce 9800 GT
GeForce 9600 GT
GeForce 8800 Ultra
GeForce 8800 GTX
GeForce 8800 GTS
GeForce 8800 GT
There's no getting away from the fact that the latest nVidia Geforce GPU's are expensive, but you can buy slightly older ones such as the 9800 GT series at really reasonable prices. When it comes to buying video cards it's always advisable to buy the best you can afford.

Want a New 3D Gaming PC?
If you're on the look out for a new gaming PC, and want to get into 3D gaming with nVidia and a Mits 3D TV then I highly recommend choosing one of the desktop PC's on the left.
This budget Widow from Visionman is the perfect choice for those on a limited budget. At under $1000 it has all the required components including an nVidia 9800 GT GPU.
If money is less of a consideration and you're looking for the most up-to-date 3D PC, then Acer's Predator is a great choice. Check out the spec!

Operating System (OS)
If your computer has all the elements listed above in the computer specifications, but is running on Windows XP, then you'll need to upgrade your operating system to Microsoft Windows Vista 32/64-bit or Windows 7 32/64-bit.
nVidia's GeForce 3d Vision Kit requires this latest operating system, so it really is essential if your looking for the complete 3D PC gaming system.

This is like candy Susana, but as a Mac user I guess I'm out of "the picture" when it comes to using nVidia's 3D Vision Kit. Any options? Thanks!
