Benefits of Prenatal Music & The Pregnancy Music Belt
81The Benefits of Prenatal Music
Since the late 1990's more and more pregnant women have been playing womb music to their unborn babies in utero. There's growing evidence that playing prenatal music during pregnancy, has many immediate and long term benefits both for the unborn baby and the mother.
The Benefits of Playing Calming Baby Womb Music:
- Relaxation and confidence in your baby after birth
- Enable strong bonding for mother and child through music
- Intellectual development for your baby
- Enahanced emotional development
- Improved fetal sensory development
As well as offering some beautiful womb music CD's below, I'm also really excited to introduce the new Pregnancy Sound System to you which is perfect for playing prenatal music to your baby, through a revolutionary pregnancy music belt. Moms that have tried it, love it and I'm pretty sure you will too.

Prenatal Womb Music CD's - Mozart, Bach, Beethoven
There's evidence that playing classical music such as Mozart, Bach and Beethoven can produce a calming effect on your unborn baby as well as improve your babies' IQ, but your baby will enjoy and respond to, any type of music from around 17 weeks gestation. You may want to go easy on the thrash metal and gangster rap though and choose music with more uplifting tones, because research shows that babies will remember their womb music for up to a year after birth and chaotic or discordant type music can have some negative effects.
If you want to be really clever, then you can teach yourself and your baby to relax using music during pregnancy by playing womb music, and then use the same music for your labor and birth, which will help you both stay relaxed at this critical time.
The womb music CD's below are specifically created for perinatal listening and infants in the first year of life.
Prenatal Music Belt
The Best Womb Music Player
Previously if we wanted to play music to our growing babies in the womb, we had to sit very still and fumble awkwardly with bulky speakers. The Nuvo Ritmo Pregnancy Sound System created by Oren Oz, is a revolution for moms to be that want to play womb music to their developing babies, because it fits so snugly and comfortably on our growing tummies, as well as ensuring that the music is played at optimal fetal levels.
As well as having so many benefits for your babies development, I'm sure you'll agree that the pregnancy sound system looks great as well. It's made of super comfy, soft spandex, is machine washable (but do take out the speakers first!) and fits the contours of your growing body perfectly. Its soft fabric belt is lightweight, elasticized and supportive. Wear it under your clothes while you're walking the dog, at work or pottering around doing housework. It allows you the freedom to wear it no matter what you are doing or wherever you are.
The Nuvoi Ritmo easily attaches to your iPod or other MP3 player (there is a pocket where it fits in securely) and it has a battery life of around 5 hours, which is plenty of time to play a few Mozart Concerto's plus some of your own favorites.

Thank You Oren Oz for Inventing This Wonderful Womb Music Belt!
Without Oren Oz seeing his pregnant wife struggle with convential music players while trying to play music to their unborn baby the product would never have been developed. “Ritmo was born out of my frustration at seeing my wife struggle to find a comfortable position that also allowed the speakers to stay still.”
Well all I can say is - "Good Job Oren!" You've created a great product that many women are just going to love and their babies are going to love it too - thank you!
The Nuvo Ritmo Pregnancy Sound System is truly inspired and inspiring for us moms that want to play our babies music in the womb - it's a great product and I for one am looking forward to trying out future Ritmo applications for the crib, stroller and toys when they become available. My babies absolutely love music and I think Oren Oz has hit on something that's going to become more and popular in the next few years.
iPods for Your Pregnancy Sound System
If you don't have an iPod or MP3 player to use with your pregnancy sound system here are a couple of very well priced players. The 8G iPod nano stores up to 2,000 songs for easy accessibility to your favorite music for you and baby. The iPod shuffle shown here can store 240 songs and has much better reviews than the newer 4th Generation iPod shuffle.

This is wonderful news. I believe that we were made to sing and dance. Babies have a connection to music. Not only does it get into their minds, but into their hearts also. Keep up the good work. It is very important.
I have been using this, I don't know how "smart" it will make our daughter but I do notice when she listens to the music I get relaxed. She listens about 30-60min before bedtime and I sleep GREAT!
I agree!This is a very informative hub!
